Our services are for American Indian Minnesota Family Investment Program (MFIP) participants. We're committed to assisting you to be successful in your employment search, attainment and retention.

MFIP is Minnesota's response to the Federal Welfare to Work Program. Under Federal Law, cash assistance is available for up to 60 months in a person's lifetime. The purpose of MFIP is to assist participants to become self-sufficient by becoming employed.

As a participant in this program you will be expected to work and/or participate in work related activities.

Work related activities may include:

  • Looking for employment
  • Resume development
  • Job skills training
  • Attending scheduled appointments with your Job Counselor

The creation of Employment Services began as a joint effort between the Ramsey County Financial Division and the American Indian community to address the high rate of American Indian families receiving MFIP benefits.
